If you love to sing, Prosper Choir has a place for you! Our performing groups offer a place for each student interested in learning more about music. Whether you've been singing your whole life, or are new to choir read below to discover more about who we are!
A Cappella Choir
The PHS A Cappella Choir is the UIL and TMEA competition choir and the Varsity Ensemble at Prosper High School. Students in this ensemble perform varied repertoire at an advanced level. Membership is open primarily to students with previous choral experience in grades 10-12 with advanced tone production and sight-reading skills. As a member of the varsity ensemble a higher level of commitment is expected of A Cappella members. Extra responsibilities are outlined in the required varsity agreement and include periodic out of class rehearsal. Members of A Cappella are highly encouraged to engage in activities to further develop their individual musical skills such as participation in the Texas All-State Choir process and Solo & Ensemble.
Lyric Choir
The Lyric Choir is the Varsity Treble Choir at Prosper High School. Lyric is an auditioned group of primarily 10-12th grade Soprano/Alto singers, most of which have previous choral experience in the PHS Eagle Choirs, above average sight-reading skills, and an outstanding academic record. Students perform music of many genres and styles at an advanced level. Students are expected to maintain an exemplary academic record for participation in this ensemble. Members of Lyric are highly encouraged to engage in activities to further develop their individual musical skills such as participation in the Texas All-State Choir process and Solo & Ensemble.

Chorale
The PHS Chorale is comprised of students with all levels of musical knowledge and serves as the JV ensemble for Tenor/Bass voices in our choir program. Basic and advanced vocal techniques will be explored and performed. Students may participate in individual competitions in addition to performing seasonal concerts. Membership is open to any student at PHS with a desire to grow as a singer and musician.
Bel Canto is comprised of students with all levels of music knowledge and serves as the JV ensemble for Treble voices in our choir program. Bel Canto (translated as "beautiful singing") will focus on basic and advanced vocal techniques and the art of beautiful singing. Students may participate in individual competitions in addition to performing seasonal concerts. Membership is open by audition to any student at PHS with a desire to grow and a singer and musician.
